Corruption prevention

Transparent and incorruptible work in the public sector is a prerequisite for the successful fulfillment of government tasks. Corruption raises doubts about the altruism of the administration and, in addition to considerable material damage, leads to a lasting loss of trust in the people involved. This depends on the behavior of each individual employee. Corruption can include not only cases of bribery, but also invitations and small favors or gifts.

Clausthal University of Technology would therefore like to help its employees to recognize such situations and to assess where the boundary between what is permissible and what is not is drawn. You can help to combat corruption by contacting the contact person with information or questions on the subject.

The area of preventing and combating corruption includes in particular

  • Interlocutor for employees, citizens and university management
  • Promoting employee awareness through advice and education
  • Suggestions to the university management on internal investigations, measures against concealment and informing the public prosecutor's office in the event of a suspicion of corruption justified by facts
  • Advice on public relations work
  • Maintaining contact with the Lower Saxony Ministry of Science and Culture and other bodies
  • Cooperation with the law enforcement authorities in general matters of combating corruption.
